Work—it’s all about the work.
Forging hot iron is a magical experience. Steel is tough and cold and difficult. When heated to around 1800º Fahrenheit, it can be moved and shaped and given a new life.
I’m a blacksmith, and I diligently maintain the training and principles I’ve learned from my mentors.
Early on, my pieces were rooted in the designs and techniques of traditional ironwork. With time and experience, I’ve learned to use these same techniques with different materials and joining processes, producing new work for the 21st century.
Over the years I have worked on everything from railings to furniture to jewelry of my own design. In addition, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with other designers and architects—professionals who embody and appreciate the care and craftsmanship of quality work.
